12-25, some things never change:: Personal reflections.

One Sunday afternoon, when I was around 12, my mom arrived home after a weekend away with a gift for me. It was an 8×10 painting with these verses.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

I remember loving it and immediately pinning it to my wall. Then when senior year hit and I was stressing over what to do with my life I would always glance up and see this 8×10 print above my bed. I knew everything would be okay if I lived by these verses.

And here I am 25 years old and these verses still haven’t faded from my soul. Attempting to navigate myself through the messy, crazy, and unpredictable life I sometimes stray off the track. But my heart glances back and remembers time after time how God has always made a path for me through life. When we seek his will, which is simply loving Jesus with our entire life,  sharing Him with others, and placing Him at the top of our lives, he moves us in directions we can never create on our own.

This just a glimpse into what tomorrow’s blog post entails. Tomorrow I explain my good-bye to facebook.

Much Love,

Katie
