We packed up all our gear on our sunburned backs and made our journey to Fleming Beach. I spotted the perfect spot then plopped the cooler, chairs, umbrella, towels, books, snorkel gear, and boogie boards on the white sandy beaches.

Once I made my mini-home for the day on the beach I glanced out onto the waters. I was captivated. I spotted a couple boogie boarding together on large waves. But it wasn’t your typical Maui honeymooner couple. These gray-haired, 70 year old love birds were catching the waves like they were 20. For the next 3 days we came to the beach there they were, out in the beautiful blue ocean living life together.

It was then I made the commitment to my love. To boogie board in Maui until I am in a wheelchair.
