This love.

As we rise out of our beds, minds racing with thoughts of the hours ahead, may the weight of God’s love rest upon our heavy hearts.
That devil, always out to steal the promises of God.
That scheming snake, attempting to place doubts of God’s love in the crevices of my cracked soul before the sun rises.

God whispers, come sit with me today so I can fill your life with my love.
Desperation we cry out, satisfy our aching souls.
Drench our hearts with your love.
Your love that never fails.
This love that does not forsake us or hold expectations.
Remind us.
You say in the morning, focus on my love.
First things first, I love you beloved.

Pour out your divine love upon our thirsty souls.
Quench our thirst with this love.
May we fall to our knees before the chaos begins and let your love cover our loneliness, our fears, our doubts, our suffering souls.
Our wretched hearts need a breath from the life-giver, a breath of unconditional love.
Every moment of this day ahead, your love reaches into the depths of our darkness and breaks through with the light of your love.
Your love brings light, our hope.
You call our broken lives to lift our eyes up to the hills to see your love, your help.
Our mighty warrior is here to love us, his children.
This love brings peace to face the day.

By your wounds Jesus, we are healed.
This is love.
A man of sorrows, familiar with suffering all for me, for us.
Jesus invited suffering with open hands because of his unfailing love.
He would not quit until death was accomplished on that cross, because he longed to pour his life out and give way to death on our behalf.

This love, a love that I can’t fully grasp.

You whisper, come, come here beloved, be still before the day begins, let me remind you of my love.
I carried your sorrows,I was crushed on your behalf, I died for you.
I rose for you.
I conquered death for you
I am consumed with love for you….I can not not stop thinking of you. You are always in my thoughts.

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
If I would count them, they are more than the sand. (ps 139:17)

Today, my love so great, I will carry  you.
You are rescued.
You are sustained.
You are redeemed.
This day.
This morning.
I take a moment to soak in the love of Christ I take for granted.
And when I soak in this love I reflect,
death did not win.
the grave did not win.
eternity is freely given yet, I take this gift for granted.
I take this life for granted too often I take Jesus bloody death on a cross for granted.
That should have been me.
That was my penalty, not Jesus’.
I should be on that cross with a crown of thorns.
Hell was my destiny.
Yet, God oh so merciful, he stepped in.
He would not allow me or you to be destined to life without him.

This is his grace.

This is love.
This is the love I take for granted.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,  not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:4-9)

Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. psalm 90:14

I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love, for you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul. Psalm 31:7

But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. Psalm 59:16

Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me! Psalm 66:20

But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15

Let your steadfast love come to me, O Lord, your salvation according to your promise; Psalm 119:41
