With the Summer season I would say, the time of the year most of us lather dangerous toxins all over our skin. From sunscreen to bug spray to lotion, what you are putting on your skin this Summer matters! These products you place on your skin goes directly into you r bloodstream, and fast! It is often said, 60% of what we put on our skin is absorbed in 26 seconds.
This is why I am passionate about essential oils and natural solutions… with your essential oils you can make most all your own SAFE DIY items. They are quick and easy… save you money AND most importantly saves your health!
Here is my list of Summer Essentials, including recipes and my First Aid Kit that is always important to have on hand.
Recipe: In a 10 ML Rollerball add 4-6 drops of each Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint. Use as needed when you have seasonal threats bothering you.
Bug Off – Terrashield Spray is an amazing natural alternative to using those toxic bug sprays… especially on your kiddos and pets. ( Another option I personally enjoy is I like to wear a diffuser bracelet with Terrashield oil on it to keep the bugs away)
Skin rashes/hives/ Foot fungus – I carry the Melaleuca touch to support all the summer skin issues, including foot issues 🙂
Staying Cool in the Heat with Peppermint and Ylang Ylang – Make this recipe to spray on your skin and keep you cool.
Recipe: Pour 1 cup Aloe Vera juice, ¼ cup water, 3–5 drops Peppermint, 3–5 drops Ylang Ylang into glass spray bottle; shake well before use. Application tip: Avoid contact with eyes.
Tummy problems: I carry DigestZen for all the gas, bloating, or other bathroom issues summer travels can bring one.
Stomach Support Rollerball8 drops Digestzen4 Wild OrangeFill with fractionated Coconut Oil. Roll over stomach as needed.
Place coconut oil in a small glass jar with a lid. Warm by running hot water over the jar until the coconut oil becomes liquid. If using the beeswax, you will need to heat the oils in the microwave or in a glass dish set in a pan of simmering water (creating a double boiler)
Add lavender + peppermint OR purify essential oil, and mix together.
Pour into lip balm or travel deodorant containers, and place in the refrigerator or freezer until solid. To apply, simply twist the bottom of the tube to push the coconut oil out and rub on the bite. *** Store in the refrigerator when not in use. Coconut oil remains solid below 76˚F.
