Faith to be filled

“Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things.” Ps 81:10

This verse really struck my heart this morning.

The act of FAITH opens, then he fills. Not God will fill us, then we open our mouths… there is a step of faith and obedience to trust he will fill our faith steps.

Faith is the key.

When we ACT in anticipation — not sit and wait, but ACT, he is faithful.

Sometimes we are waiting around for a very long time for God to move in and through us, when he’s been waiting on us all along.

When I taught prayer recently, I shared with them, I didn’t know I could pray and hear the Spirit simultaneously until I OPENED my mouth. If I waited till I thought God had made me ready… I’d still be waiting. I learned to pray publicly, by praying publicly. That was the secret. Yet we overcomplicate it so often.

When I think of Pop Up Prayer in the tents, you must know, I am not some eloquently trained-master praying woman. I’m just simply available to OPEN my mouth and let God meet me at the moment and FILL me.

For many we get so scared, fearful, or ashamed to open our mouths and tell God stories, pray for others, or step out in faith because we want God to fill us first and then once we’re confident THEN will step out. But in my experience, it’s faith. All that’s required is faith to believe HE IS FAITHFUL!

Stepping out in faith, sure comes with fear, but the experience of watching the Holy Spirit show up is SO much better than succumbing to any fear.

Ephesians 3:20 it says, “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!”

We’ve got to open our mouths by FAITH and let God fill us.

I want to invite you into a few days of watching a FAITHFUL God show up and use your willingness to open your mouth to LOVE strangers with prayer and hope of the Good News!

You may not be called to join me on the beaches for spring break, but let me encourage you, open your mouths and TELL A GOD story, pray out loud with or for someone, be willing to listen to the Holy Spirit and step out in courage as you open your mouth ☺️

“We open our mouths wide when we pray on Jesus’ merits, not our own.”
